March Birchbox Review!

Here we have the March Birchbox! This is my little beauty treat to myself each month!

This months theme is Mindfulness! It is so important to remember to look after yourself and this box of treats were great for doing just that! I love the design and colours of the box it looks so bright and relaxing which is perfect for the theme!

Here are the 5 lovely products I received in this months birchbox!

BLAQ Peel Off Mask RRP: £14

It made my skin feel nice and smooth but it wasn’t very easy peeling it off, it hurt a bit. It was rather sticky and I don’t think it did much for my pores so I probably won’t use this again.

Benefit BADgal BANG! Volumising Mascara RRP: £21.50

This is the product everyone has been talking about at the moment and I have been so excited to try it!

Here is a before photo!

Here is the after photo!

As you can see my lashes have amazing volume and I am so happy there was no clumps at all! It was so easy to apply, lasts all day and I didn’t have to keep putting more layers on which I usually have to and also usually my eyelashes stick together but this mascara made them separated. Very pleased with this and will definitely buy it. Amazing!

Lumene Valo (Light) Boost Essence RRP: £29.90.

Honestly I didn’t use this product as I don’t wear foundation so this wasn’t the product for me.

R + Co Badlands Dry Shampoo RRP: £22

I used this on a day which my hair was starting to look ready for a wash. It smells really lovely and it made my hair not look so greasy but I didn’t like that I can feel the dry paste in my hair all day I would describe it as gritty and it’s really knotty when I brush it, I looked closely at the beginning I could see little white bits of the paste, looks like dandruff but gave it a few hours and I couldn’t see it anymore. It made my hair feel so gritty I ended up deciding to wash it, I don’t think I will use this again.

Baija Gommage Festin Royal Body Scrub RRP: £14.90

Gorgeous smell of caramelised honey! It made my skin feel nice and soft, I am not usually a big fan of scrubs but this one I will definitely use again

If you received the March Birchbox, I would be interested in hearing about what you thought of the products! So feel free to leave a comment below!

International Women’s Day 2018 #EndPeriodPoverty

I was watching Lorraine on ITV this morning, Alesha Dixon has started a inspiring campaign to end period poverty!

More than 137,000 girls in the UK have missed school in the last year because they couldn’t afford sanitary products.

Sanitary products should be free!

We must end period poverty

I put a tweet up on my twitter page so please retweet and support the campaign!

My first impression on the new social media app Vero!

Hey guys and girlies!

Today I was scrolling through my Twitter homepage and noticed a lot of people talking about the new social media app Vero!

I thought I would give it a go! When I downloaded the app it asks for your phone number and sends you a code which I found rather easy to sign up.

My first impression was “okay.. this looks rather confusing! ” I personally think the layout looks cool, it is easy to add new people by just searching their name and you can either follow them or add them so they can connect with you and you can choose which setting of group of friends you would like to share your posts with and you can also private message which is great.

Only problem I found with is app is it keeps crashing but I suppose that is due to it being new and lots of new people downloading and signing onto it so hopefully they will sort out that issue soon.

I like how you can add photos, website links and also search your favourite books, music, tv, movies to recommend and share your views with your friends!

Has anyone else downloaded the app, what are your first thoughts on this? Feel free to add me! Sophie Smurfy ☺️

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend

February Birchbox Review!

Here we have the February Birchbox! This is my little beauty treat to myself each month!

There was a choice between three box designs as this months theme was beauty through the decades! I chose 90s because I am a 90s baby! But the 70s and 80s boxes looked really cool too!

Here are the 5 lovely products i received in this months birchbox!

The Beauty Crop Eyeshadow Trio in Love You So Latte (Full Size) RRP: £7

These are a gorgeous colour! All three colours blended very nicely together, I really love the middle one as it gives a lovely shimmery look! Will definitely use this on a night out!

Luseta Coconut Milk Hair Mask RRP: £32

When I opened the birchbox I wondered where that amazing smell was coming from and it was this! This really made my hair look and feel great! Think I will buy the full product in the future.

Percy & Reed Quite Frankly Flawless Finishing Polish RRP: £10

This smells lush! But after using it made my hair look greasy, although i’m not sure if it is just because of my hair type but this was just not for me.

Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in Pixi Pink (Full Size) RRP: £8

I love trying out lip balms, shea butter is my favourite but it didn’t apply very smoothly and I notice it didn’t exactly moisturise my lips and that is mainly the reason why I use lip balm so unfortunately it didn’t cut it for me

ModelCo Green Concealer (Full Size) RRP: £14

I suffer with dark blemishes on the sides of my nose, I never really found a product that was good enough to hide it and look natural, although this worked wonders for me, so happy this came with my birchbox as this will be added to my every day makeup

If you received the February Birchbox, I would be interested in hearing about what you thought of the products! So feel free to leave a comment below!

January Birchbox Review!

This is my first Birchbox subscription box so I was really excited for it to arrive, try the products and write a review!

On the day it arrived the delivery driver left it outside in the rain so the box was drenched and I had to put it beside the radiator and wait for the box to dry but luckily the contents inside was safe.

Once it had dried out I tried it all the products straight away and here is what I thought.

These are the 5 products I received although contents may vary.

Lord & Berry – Peach blusher crayon (Full size) RRP: £15

My first thought was it may be too light for face because it was a bright peachy colour but actually it was perfect for my skin colour! I am very pale and needed something to give me a bit of colour so I was extremely pleased with this and I shall use it as part of my daily makeup routine!

Laura Mercier – Foundation primer radiance RRP: £29

This product was great! Moisturises the skin and you don’t need to apply very much! I don’t tend to use foundation very much due to my skin being sensitive but it was absolutely fine when I tried this so I may use it more often!

Oribe – Dry texturizing spray RRP: from £20

On the day I used this product my hair was needing a wash, my hair is rather oily sometimes so I thought this product would help with that, Unfortunately it didn’t do anything different to my hair, although I ended up using the whole tin trying to get some effect from it and still saw no change so I was rather disappointed although what I liked about this is that it doesn’t leave powdery residue

Marcelle – Waterproof eyeliner in charcoal RRP: £10.99

I always really struggle to put eyeliner on as my hands get shakey and end up poking myself in the eye all the time but I found this rather easy to apply, I think this will be one to add to my daily makeup! It isn’t a very bold dark though.

Afterspa – amazing makeup remover RRP: £5.50

After putting all the makeup on my face I was really hoping this would work as I had ran out of makeup wipes!

I was really impressed with this! With just a bit if warm water it all came off very easily and it is really soft and nice to use on my face I would definitely recommend this product, it apparently lasts up too 1,000 washes!

After receiving this as my first Birchbox I seriously can’t wait to see what I get next month! If you received the January Birchbox, i’ll be interested in hearing about what you thought of the products!

Thank you to Sophie for nominating me to do this. Go and check out her blog posts! She is one of my favourite bloggers!

The Rules

• Mention the person who has nominated you and link their blog below.

• Shuffle your entire music library, no matter how old or weird the songs. List the first 15 that play, along with the artists they’re by.

• Comment on the song if you have any stories or memories behind it.

• Tag 7 or more bloggers to join in.

My songs:

1. Busted – What I Go To School For

This brings back so many wonderful memories, when me and my best friend Kate were in primary school we would go over each others for sleepovers and always singing and dancing to this song and to be honest we still do now!

2. Mr probz – Waves

One of my favourites! This is the slow version and it is my sleepy song!

3. Trivium – Endless Night

This song is always on repeat at the moment! Love it!

4. Kelly Clarkson – Because of you

This song brings back a lot of personal memories.. I always listened to this song on those sleepless nights when I was younger and dealing with my dads alcohol issues, always crying myself to sleep.

5. A Great Big World – You’ll Be Okay Another one of those songs I always listened too for the same reason I explained in the song above. Such a positive song and keeps me going.

6. Tweenies – Best Friends Forever

Well.. this one is rather embarrassing haha! I keep this song on my playlist as it brings back the lovely memories when I was younger and my brother was a toddler, this was the song that we always danced too together and I pretended to be a pop star!

7. Eminem – Space bound

Great memories of this song, me and Selina rap this song together

8. Jason Derulo – Want To Want Me

My dance moves get really sexy when this song comes on!

9. Flo Rida – Wild ones

This was my getting ready for college tune as it was always on the radio at 6am eating my breakfast and dancing in the kitchen!

10. Wiley – Heatwave

This just hits me with the summer vibe! Reminds me of at my previous job this was our summer tune! Me and kids always danced to this!

11. John Legend – All Of Me

The song every girl wants their man to sing to her, such a beautiful song.

12. Chicago – You’re the inspiration

Me and my other half chosen this song to be our first dance at our wedding! Also it is on the deadpool soundtrack!

13. Rihanna – Diamonds

This song makes me so upset as it was playing most of the day on the radio when I heard the news my nanny passed away.

14. Basshunter – now you’re gone

My high school tune! Basshunter was my favourite back then, always banging out this tune on the bus

15. Jay sean – down

Another old tune! But I loved the midnight beasts parady to this song

Well.. that was a very mixed emotion shuffle on my spotify playlist!

My New Years Resolutions for 2018!

Happy New Year to all our lovely followers! We hope you had a great Christmas!

Unfortunately we have came down with the horrible flu virus so I am sitting here sniffling at 12am not being able to sleep and thought I would do something productive and start my first blog of 2018 on my new years resolutions/goals I would like to achieve this year.

Here we go!

  • My big goal for this year would be to reach 1k subscribers on my YouTube channel, we are currently at 431 and I’d love to reach 500 on my blog and I am currently on 118.
  • I want to post more blogs and YouTube videos more often. I don’t have a schedule right now because life can get way too busy at times.
  • I would like to do the 30 day squat challenge, I have tried and failed before but I am determined to complete this!
  • I want to keep my anxiety and depression under control. This was a massive issue for me in 2017 and I wrote a post about ways to deal with anxiety and depression so if you would like to give it a read here is the link but I want to carry on with all those things I listed in the post.
  • I would like to get a new job or go to university.
  • I would like to be able to drive, Last year I passed my driving test first time unfortunately high anxiety got the best of me but I want to overcome that fear, build up my confidences again and get back in that car!

So that is my new years resolutions/goals I would like to achieve this year, I am really hoping I can look back on this next year and tick those off!

What are your goals for 2018?
